Mesna is not only well known for amazing horse riding. Your hosts, the Li Hauger family, has many years of experience arranging riding tours, but also organising many types of events such as the amazing outdoor play, Birkebeinerspelet, which is arranged yearly. They were also, along with over 40 of their horses, taking part in the feature film, Birkebeinerne (The Last King), in 2015.

The hosts
Camilla Lie and Kristoffer Hauger, own Mesna farm and run Mesna Icelandic Horse Centre.
Kristoffer is a graduate agronomist, farrier, riding judge and riding instructor to level IS RIK III, and has many years of experience as an instructor and guide. He has a wealth of experience with many other horse breeds.
Camilla is also an agronomist and riding instructor to level IS RIK III. She has the primary responsibility for the horses and works as a tour leader. Camilla has worked with horses for more than thirty years.
Riding
At Mesna we offer scheduled tours for experienced riders. You ride in the beautiful Mesna area, with forests, streams and lakes, and you will be able to experience the special gaits of the Icelandic breed. Get ready for a true nature adventure!

Accommodation
The accommodation is at Mesnabakken which is a recently restored old and charming pension. Mesnabakken consists of the Main House (14 rooms, 28 beds), the Annexe (4 rooms, 8 beds), the Uthuset (3 rooms, 6 beds) and Kaarhuset (1 room, 2 beds). Shared toilet and shower facilities.
